POKOTABI / Sushi Rabu
sushi楽武
Located on Otowa-dori in Bunkyo Ward, Sushi Rabu serves fresh seafood sourced daily from Toyosu. Enjoy custom-ordered nigiri and seasonal plates over drinks at a relaxed counter.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Rather than adhering to an unyielding fixed course, dining at Sushi Rabu along Otowa-dori near Gokokuji Station allows you to tailor your meal to your appetite and preferences. The kitchen works with seafood handpicked daily from Toyosu Market. Guests can leave the progression entirely to the chef via an omakase selection or consult with him directly across the counter, picking out desired fish piece by piece.
Nigiri handed over from the preparation counter is shaped to separate effortlessly on the palate. The chef's careful handiwork is evident in every piece, from lean bluefin tuna and delicately vinegar-cured kohada (gizzard shad) to sweet kuruma prawn, ginger-and-scallion-accented horse mackerel, and tender simmered conger eel. Between pieces of sushi, ordering seasonal small plates—such as sashimi platters or aromatic grilled fish—adds variety to the meal. A selection of alcoholic drinks, including beer and wine, is available to sip at leisure.
The dining room is completely non-smoking, offering a calm, adult retreat from the street outside. Warm hospitality from the chef and proprietress sets guests at ease, making it equally comfortable for a quiet drink alone at the counter or an evening meal with companions. Sushi Rabu operates exclusively for dinner, accepts reservations, and takes credit card payments. Securing a seat beforehand is recommended when planning a night of deliberate sushi and drinks.
